Enrique Tirado visits Asia to promote the 2014 vintage of Don Melchor

The winemaker toured Asia from August 30 to September 7, promoting Don Melchor 2014.

Winemaker Enrique Tirado visited Korea, Taiwan, China, and Singapore on his Asia tour. Tirado set out to promote the 2014 vintage of Don Melchor, starting in Seoul on August 30 where he met with some VIP clients of Korea’s Concha y Toro distributor, Lotte, and top local experts to unveil the latest release and also taste some other vintages of Chile’s most highly celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon.

The following day he gave a masterclass alongside top sommelier Yang Yoon Ju, the brand ambassador for the region. Attendees – mainly wine writers and sommeliers – had the chance to taste Don Melchor vintages from 1988, 1990, 2013, and 2014.

The winemaker then moved on to Taiwan, where on September 1 and 2 he ran a masterclass and a food pairing dinner for distributors, VIP clients, sommeliers, and wine journalists, featuring the 1987, 1990, 2005, 2010, 2013, and 2014 vintages.

From there Tirado traveled to China, where he gave masterclasses for sommeliers, clients, and the press in the cities of Guangzhou and Shanghai.

He was joined by Rodrigo Jackson, Concha y Toro’s Central Asia Managing Director – for activities that included a tasting at the Shanghai Waldorf Astoria that featured the component wines that go into the final blend of Don Melchor.

The tour ended in Singapore, where the Tirado granted interviews to local journalists and held a masterclass and vertical tasting at the Artemis Grill for leading figures in the trade, sommeliers, VIP clients, and the press.
